Wheat growth responses to soil mechanical impedance are dependent on phosphorus supply

چکیده

Increased mechanical impedance induced by soil drying or compaction causes reduction in plant growth and crop yield. However, how interacts with nutrient stress has been largely unknown. Here, we investigated the effect of on wheat seedlings under contrasting phosphorus (P) supply a sand culture system which allows to be independent water availability. Two genotypes containing Rht-B1a (tall) Rht-B1c (gibberellin-insensitive dwarf) alleles Cadenza background were used their shoot root traits determined. Mechanical caused significant sufficient P supply, including reduced biomass, leaf area total length. By contrast, low did not affect tiller number, length, nodal number both genotypes, indicating that magnitude restriction imposed was dependent supply. The interaction between level most except for axial lateral suggesting an evident physical nutritional interaction. Our findings provide valuable insights into integrated effects plants response stresses. Understanding patterns is critical optimizing tillage management field.

Winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) allelopathy responses to soil moisture and phosphorus stresses

Field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments were conducted to evaluate the impact of soil moisture and phosphorus on allelopathic potential of wheat residues, and to study the effect of wheat extract concentrations on the germination and growth of wild mustard (Sinapis arvrnsis L.). The field experimental design was split-plot with 4 replications. The main factor was three moisture levels inc...

Physiological responses of two wheat cultivars to soil drought.

Young plants of the two wheat cultivars Katya and Prelom, differing in their reaction to drought in the field, were grown in soil in pots, and their water status was assessed as well as the intensity of gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence, and accumulation of compatible solutes and hydrogen peroxide after 7 days of dehydration. It was established that cv. Katya displayed markedly better tole...

Regulatory hotspots are associated with plant gene expression under varying soil phosphorus supply in Brassica rapa.

Gene expression is a quantitative trait that can be mapped genetically in structured populations to identify expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL). Genes and regulatory networks underlying complex traits can subsequently be inferred. Using a recently released genome sequence, we have defined cis- and trans-eQTL and their environmental response to low phosphorus (P) availability within a com...

Morphological and Physiological Responses of Carnation and Tomato to Organic Phosphorus Insecticides and Inorganic Soil Phosphorus.

During the last few years considerable attention has been focused upon the use of the organic phosphorus compounds hexaethyl tetraphosphate and tetraethyl pyrophosphate as the active components of certain commercial insecticides. These substances are known to be toxic not only to insects but to other organisms in general as well. As the names of hexaethyl tetraphosphate and tetraethyl pyrophosp...
